As a parenting sleep coach, I know how important it is to understand each family’s unique challenges. Before Kartra, I spent so much time asking parents the same questions over email or during our calls. But once I discovered Kartra’s survey feature, I found a much easier way to gather this information before our sessions.

Here’s how I set up my first survey—and why it has been a game-changer for my coaching process.

Creating my first Survey:

I started by navigating to the “Contacts” section on the Kartra dashboard and selecting “Surveys.” From there, I clicked on the “+ New Survey” button and gave my survey a name—“Sleep Habits Assessment.” Since my goal was to collect key details about a child’s sleep patterns before a consultation, I kept things simple with a traditional survey format.

Customizing My Questions:

Kartra lets you choose from multiple question types, so I mixed in multiple-choice, rating scales, and open-ended responses to get the best insights. Some of the key questions I included were:

  • How old is your child?
  • How many naps does your child take per day?
  • On a scale from 1 to 10, how difficult is bedtime?
  • What are your biggest sleep challenges?

I made sure to keep the survey concise—just enough to gather the most relevant details without overwhelming parents.

Getting responses to my Survey:

Once my survey was ready, I embedded it on my booking confirmation page. That way, after a parent scheduled a consultation, they were prompted to fill out the survey right away. I also included the survey link in my confirmation email, giving them another chance to complete it before our session.

Using survey data to improve coaching:

Having this information in advance has completely changed how I approach consultations. Now, instead of spending the first part of a call gathering basic details, I can:

  • Skip repetitive questions and dive straight into personalized advice.
  • Spot patterns in sleep struggles to offer better solutions.
  • Keep track of client data for follow-ups and progress tracking.

Before using surveys, I was wasting valuable time on calls just collecting background info. Now, I start every session prepared, which means I can focus on what truly matters—helping parents find real solutions.

By integrating surveys into my process, I’ve made my coaching sessions smoother, more efficient, and more impactful. If you’re looking for a way to gather better insights from your audience, Kartra’s surveys might be the perfect tool for you too.
